Airis

Artwork freezing the moment of a natural phenomenon where petals are blown by wind and soar upwards from the ground. Airis means “Air+is”, with petals visualizing the existence of air. This installation is a “wind sculpture” of approximately 15,000 petals, producing the dynamism of light and time through LED lighting, projection and interaction.
The means of production involves the use of 3D animation to generate the real behavior of fluttering petals that have been physically simulated with CG, accurately reproducing each individual petal within the space from that data. Finally, hand nuances and volume are added.
