K.L.V
# PAVILLION
This light installation combines the originally developed K.L.V (Kinetic Light Vision) system—featuring floating spheres—with sweeping panoramic visuals projected onto curved screens and mirrors. Together, they create an immersive spatial experience that blends light, motion, and imagery in a powerful and poetic way.
The physical movements and shifting colors of the illuminated spheres are carefully synchronized with scenes reflecting the natural landscapes and cultural heritage of Shiga. Cherry blossoms, fireflies, fireworks, and autumn foliage unfold in vivid detail, transforming the entire space into a living canvas. As light flows through the installation, it echoes the rhythm and beauty of Shiga’s seasons, traditions, and scenery.
Conceived as a “spatial pictogram,” the installation is designed to communicate directly and intuitively—transcending language or explanation. It aims to convey Japan’s deep connection with nature and its refined sense of beauty through a universal visual language that resonates with visitors from all walks of life.
Created for the Kansai Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai, this experience invites people of all ages and nationalities to pause, observe, and connect with something both local and timeless. By uniting cutting-edge technology with artistic sensitivity, the installation offers more than just visual impact—it provides a meditative, emotional journey through space, light, and the essence of Japanese aesthetics.
